Why We Like It:
The 5-star celebrity haunt that is the Conrad Bora Bora Nui has perhaps the most opulent overwater bungalows in Bora Bora.
The setting is beautiful – a private cove on Motu To’opua – it is secluded and thoroughly romantic, and for us the resort really has an extra touch of class, even by Bora Bora’s high standards.
We think it also has a strong candidate for the world’s finest overwater bungalow, and that is the incredibly impressive Presidential Overwater Villa.
Their hilltop Hina Spa has soothing treatments and tremendous panoramic views, there are four excellent dining options, a large infinity pool and pool bar, and some lovely stretches of the purest of white sands.
The Conrad is family-friendly; it has its own Kid’s Club, but overall we think you’ll find the atmosphere is one of romance and indulgent tranquility.
Overwater Bungalows & Other Accommodation:
We have a total of 114 accommodation units at the Conrad, with a choice between overwater, beach, and garden.
The Conrad, in its previous incarnation as a Hilton, was the first resort in Bora Bora to offer the now ubiquitous overwater bungalows and these are of course as plush and opulent as you may imagine.
They all offer lots of space too, with the smallest on offer covering around 1200 ft². They have sleek and stylish interiors, king-size beds, and wall-to-wall sliding doors opening out to a large deck where you have direct access to the sea, lounging, and dining furniture, and an outdoor shower.
Some, the ‘Pool Villas’, also come with an infinity plunge pool and overwater catamaran-style hammock nets to sink into.
For us the crème de la crème of the overwater bungalows are certainly the two Presidential Overwater Villas.
They are absolutely stunning two-story overwater palaces, probably the finest in Bora Bora.
These are where A-list celebs stay when they’re in town. Feast your eyes here.
The Conrad’s Beach Villas though are also quite special and compare well to the overwaters.
Sitting on the beach, just feet from the water, they boast the same luxurious qualities and come with infinity-style plunge pools as standard, overlooking the sand and the sea.
Then there are the Garden Suites. They are situated in the garden area just behind the beach.
They are spacious and equally beautifully designed and decorated, though the ‘Garden View’ choices don’t have much of a view.
The pick of them therefore are the ‘Horizon View Villas’ which are higher up on the hill and have terrific views over the resort and the ocean beyond.
Throughout the accommodation choices, you can expect modern facilities worthy of The Conrad’s 5 Star status; A/C, mini bar, coffee makers, flat-screen TVs, and top-of-the-range music systems.
We think you’ll find the bathrooms suitably opulent at this resort with stylish bathtubs, a range of quality pampering products, and oodles of space.

Resort Facilities & Things to Do:
A wonderful buffet and a la carte breakfast is served daily at the resort’s signature, and very lovely, Iriati Restaurant.
Here you can also enjoy some excellent French food and wine for lunch and dinner.
The more informal, sand floored, Tamure Beach Grill sits right by the beach and the pool, serves lunch daily, and also has drinks and various themed dinners on some evenings.
Then there is the Banyan Chinese restaurant, the Upa Upa Lounge, which is a part cocktail bar, part sushi restaurant, and a very casual swim-up bar at the centerpiece infinity pool.
Private dining can be arranged at The Conrad, with a particularly nice option being a private beach dinner or picnic on the resort’s own secluded island, Motu Tap.
You can also order in-room dining, formal or informal, 24 hours a day via your personal butler.
Named after a Polynesian goddess, the Hina Spa sits on the hill behind the resort and has tremendous views from its floor-to-ceiling windows.
It has an array of treatments, indoor and outdoor treatment decks, a couple’s room with a jacuzzi, and a steam room/sauna.
Water sports are plentiful here with complimentary non-motorized water sports equipment available; paddle boats, kayaks, and snorkel gear for example.
The snorkeling just around the Conrad is arguably the very best in Bora Bora.
Lots of more hardcore activities such as scuba diving, kite surfing, and jet skiing can also be arranged.
And on dry land you can use the complimentary bikes to explore the resort, go hiking around the hills, either guided or solo, and play a round of tennis or mini golf.
Their Fitness Center has state-of-the-art equipment including both cardio and weights and is accessible 24 hours a day.
Personal training and fitness classes are also available and the resort also has a 2.5-kilometer scenic running track.
There are daily tournaments for guests to partake in at The Conrad, more for fun than competition, including things like kayak racing, mini-golf, beach volleyball, and tennis.
The Conrad also does educational programs and organizes bespoke excursions with native guides where guests can learn everything from the ukulele and the Tahitian language to Coco leaf braiding and traditional Polynesian tattooing.
On-site you can also get a feel for local culture with some evening dance and storytelling performances accompanied by traditional Polynesian food and drink.
Children will be well looked after at the Tamari’i Kids Club which has separate zones for up to, and over 7 years, and babysitting services are also available.
And finally, we have a great concierge service at the Conrad with guests being invited to download the Conrad Concierge app on arrival.

“The Conrad was truly magical. We can’t put into words how beautiful it was and how special our stay was. We were lucky enough to choose here for our honeymoon and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were fantastic and the service was outstanding. For an extra treat the spa options are wonderful and the location is insane with views of the resort and incredible scenery….”
“10* resort. Absolutely in love with the Conrad: Exceptional staff and facilities, phenomenal food, especially in Iriati the French restaurant, and absolutely awesome views. I have never and probably will never be anywhere as top class for the rest of my life….”
